Several years ago on a mission trip to an unreached people group in the Andes Mountains of Peru, my wife and I were part of a team that walked along a narrow dirt path that lay over 9,000 feet above sea level.
Glenda stopped to speak with a pleasant old Quechua woman who was much more adept at thriving in the thin air. When she asked the woman if she knew Jesus, she replied, "No. Jesus doesn't live in this village. Maybe he lives up there," she remarked as she pointed to a village farther up the trail. Glenda then went on to explain how Jesus could not only come to live in her village, but also her heart.
May we take the time to explain the Gospel in such a way that others truly understand it, because many along with the old Quechua woman could say of themselves, "Jesus doesn't live here."
