Galatians 6:9-10: Part 5 (Application)

Yesterday we discussed the fact that as believers we must "keeping on keeping on" when it comes to the ministry that God has set before us. Today, our focus will be on specific applications of Galatians 6:9-10:

6:9 Let us not lose heart in doing good, for in due time we will reap if we do not grow weary.
6:10 So then, while we have opportunity, let us do good to all people, and especially to those who are of the household of the faith.

1. We must remember that our relationship with God is what refreshes us during times of
weariness.

2. We must be mindful of ministry opportunities that God places in our path. Sometimes, life becomes so busy that we fail to take notice of the people and situations that God places in our lives. We must keep the main thing the main thing and take every opportunity to minister to others.

3. When God has called us to a particular task, we should think twice before changing
ministries. “God told me” can be one of the biggest “cop-outs” that a Christian can use because often these words are just an excuse to do what we desire. For this reason, if you are frustrated with your current ministry, before moving on be certain that it is God’s will to move. Remember that your next ministry will have challenges and problems as well!

4. We must remember that God’s promise is that we will reap if we do not grow weary.

For I am confident of this very thing, that He who began a good work in you will perfect it until the day of Christ Jesus.
(Philippians 1:6)
