Jesus, the Servant of the LORD (Isaiah 52:13-53:12)

This passage is the fourth and final Servant Song in the Book of Isaiah. The text teaches many important things about the Servant 800 years before He was born:

1) The Servant will be wise and exalted (52:13)
2) The Servant will be disfigured by being beaten (52:14)
3) The Servant will sprinkle many nations - - His salvation is available to every tribe and tongue (52:15)
4) The Servant is the Arm of the LORD (53:1)
5) The Servant will be a “tender shoot” with an unattractive appearance (53:2)
6) The Servant will be despised and be a man of sorrows (53:3)
7) The Servant will be crushed for our iniquities and heal our wounds (53:4-5)
8) The Servant will be like a lamb led to the slaughter (53:6-7)
9) The Servant will be assigned a grave with the wicked and be with the rich in His death (53:8-9)
10) The Servant will be raised from the dead (53:10-11)
11) The Servant will be made great and exalted (53:12)
