           a. The joy of forgiveness (vv. 1-2)
           b. The agony of unconfessed sin (vv. 3-4)

       2. Confession of Sin (v. 5)

       3. Protection for the Godly (vv. 6-7)

       4. Godly Instruction (vv. 8-11)

           a. Admonition to Heed Wise Instruction (vv. 8-9)
           b. The Difference between the Godly and the Wicked
               (vv. 10)
                i. The wicked will experience many sorrows (v. 10a)
               ii. Those who trust in the LORD will be surround by His
                    mercy (v. 10b)
           c. The Call to Rejoice (v. 11)

32:1 How blessed is he whose transgression is forgiven, Whose sin is covered!
32:2 How blessed is the man to whom the LORD does not impute iniquity, And in whose spirit there is no deceit! (NASB)
34:6 Then the LORD passed by in front of him and proclaimed, "The LORD, the LORD God, compassionate and gracious, slow to anger, and abounding in lovingkindness and truth;
34:7 who keeps lovingkindness for thousands, who forgives iniquity, transgression and sin; yet He will by no means leave the guilty unpunished, visiting the iniquity of fathers on the children and on the grandchildren to the third and fourth generations."
(Exodus, 34:6-7 NASB)

Question: How does God forgive, transgression, sin, and iniquity (Ps. 32:1-2), if He by no means leaves the guilty unpunished (Exod. 34:7)

Answer: Guilt is not simply forgiven, but it must be punished. In Ps. 32:1, one's sin is forgiven ("to lift, carry, take away"), and this is the same verb used in Isaiah 53:4 when the Suffering Servant bears our griefs and sorrows. In other words, Christ paid the penalty for our sin so that we might be forgiven.
